What is Beanstack?

Beanstack is a way to participate in our 2020 Summer Library Program online. With Beanstack, you can track the books or minutes you read over the summer, log activities, and more.

Registration opens Monday, June 15 and closes Saturday, August 15.

Family Registration

    • Open the Beanstack website.
    • Click Register an Individual or Family
    • Answer previous Beanstack use question
    • Choose I am an adult registering a child.

    • Adults registering children must enter their contact information and then add child's information.
    • Complete registration information and click Next
    • Select the reading challenge for that child and click Next
    • Choose Yes to add additional family member(s) if desired. Or, choose No if you are done registering.
    • Adults registering a child can also register themselves for the Adult Summer Library Program.
    • Click Continue to complete registration.
    • Start logging reading and activities on the Beanstack dashboard.
    • Add readers by using the dashboard after initial registration is complete.
      • Log in to your Beanstack account.
      • Click the name dropdown menu below the Library logo on the Beanstack home page.
      • Choose Add a Reader.
      • Complete registration.

Individual Registration

    • Open the Beanstack website.
    • Click Register an Individual or Family
    • Answer previous Beanstack use question
    • Choose I am registering myself.

    • Complete registration information and click Next.
    • Choose a reading challenge and click Register.
    • Click Continue to complete registration.
    • Start logging reading and activities on the Beanstack dashboard.

Registration

    • Download the app from App Store or the Google Play store
    • Open the app
    • Search for Oconomowoc Public Library.
    • Touch Sign Up! at the bottom of the screen.
    • Follow the prompts to complete the registration for yourself or your child.
    • Touch Next to add additional family members if desired.
    • Touch Challenges at the bottom of the screen to choose your reading challenge.
    • Start logging reading and activities on the home screen.
    • To add readers, touch Account and choose Readers, Add A Reader and complete their information.

Logging Reading & Activities

You can track the books or minutes you read over the summer, log activities, and more! Earn digital badges to be entered into prize drawings!

Logging Online

    • Log in to Beanstack.
    • Click on the blue Log Reading and Activities button in the upper left corner of the webpage.

    • Follow the prompts on the screen to log reading or activities accomplished.
    • A badge will unlock (turn to color instead of black & white) when a reading landmark or set of activities is completed.
    • You will earn tickets (appear in the upper right corner of the badge) that can be entered for prize drawings as badges are unlocked.

Logging in the App

    • Open the app
    • Click on the blue + button
      add reading or activity
    • Follow the prompts to enter the information you want to log

Prize Drawings

  • Tickets must be assigned to a prize to be entered into drawings.
    • Click on the Ticket Drawings tab on the Challenges dashboard (see below).
    • The number of tickets earned and prize drawings available appear.
    • Click Add Tickets button on the prize you would like to enter for (no maximum).
  • All tickets must be assigned to a prize by the end of the day on August 15 to be eligible for final prize drawings.

Online Dashboard

  • Click the setting icon in the upper right corner of the page to Edit Account.

  • Click Return to this Challenge on the challenge you registered for from the Beanstack home page.

    • Challenge Badges - registration and completion badges
    • Logging Badges - details associated with the challenge
    • Activity Badges - details associated with the challenge
    • Earned Badges - all badges the participant has earned
    • Ticket Drawings - how many tickets have been earned and prize choices
    • Challenge Log - printable log of challenges completed
