Frequently Asked Questions About the Library’s Response to COVID-19

Staff will be checking messages periodically and can assist you by phone at (262) 569-2193 or email at contactus@oconomowoclibrary.org. We will respond as promptly as possible. We appreciate your understanding if our response is a bit delayed due to this rapidly changing situation. Thank you, and all of us at the Library wish you safety and good health.

WHY IS THE LIBRARY CLOSED?
The Library made the difficult decision to close after a great deal of consideration. The health and safety of our patrons and staff is our priority. The Library Board and the City have been staying on top of the evolving COVID-19 pandemic and have determined that, based on advice from the Centers for Disease Control, the WI Department of Health Services, and the Waukesha County Health Department, the best way we can protect our community is to close. By encouraging social distancing and helping to “flatten the curve,” we believe our actions will help our community stay safer and healthier.

ARE ANY OTHER LIBRARIES OPEN?
All Bridges libraries are closed. An updated list can be found on their website.

WHEN ARE YOU OPENING AGAIN?
Right now, the Library is closed until further notice. We will let patrons know when we plan to reopen with signs, on our website, on Facebook and Instagram, and on our phone message.
