As another fantastic summer comes to a close, we’d like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our amazing teen library volunteers. Their enthusiasm, kindness, and hard work helped make this year’s Summer Library Program a success.
Throughout the summer, our teen volunteers supported the library in many ways. Summer Reading Room Assistants welcomed families, helped participants sign up for the Reading Challenge, distributed prizes and drawing tickets, and kept the Summer Reading Room organized and ready for visitors. Event Assistants pitched in before, during, and after programs, helping everything run smoothly. Our Big Griff Mentors encouraged younger readers, helping them set and achieve summer reading goals while building confidence and a love of reading.
Whether they spent a few hours helping at an event or dedicated their summer to mentoring younger readers, every volunteer made a meaningful difference. Their energy, creativity, and willingness to help others contributed to a welcoming library experience for our community.

Want to volunteer at the Library?
Teens, if you enjoyed volunteering this summer, or you’re looking for a way to get involved at your Library throughout the year, consider joining the Teen Advisory Board (TAB)!
TAB members help make the library a great place for teens by:
- Creating displays around the library
- Planning teen programs and activities
- Helping design and build the Library’s Halloween float
- Sharing ideas that shape library services for teens
Members receive volunteer hours for attending monthly TAB meetings and get first notice of upcoming teen volunteer opportunities. Teens interested in volunteering with the Library are encouraged to join TAB and sign up for the TAB email list to hear about future opportunities.
Also, there will be snacks.
